NZA participates in national and regional subrogation recovery programs with several major insurance carriers. These programs allow us to provide our clients with early and cost-effective investigation and evaluation of their losses, including the retention, direction, and management of the appropriate experts and their budgets. In addition to our recovery programs, we also provide representation on a “case by case” basis and will review older claims to determine if cases previously closed have recovery potential. NZA attorneys are frequently called upon to give seminars on all aspects of subrogation to our client’s claim department and to industry organizations.
The value of our proven experience is evidenced in many cases, such as when a fire broke out in the largest, single printing facility in the Western Hemisphere after it collapsed on a Friday morning. By the time the fire was extinguished, one person was killed and over $63 million dollars in property damage occurred. The next morning, Nielsen, Zehe & Antas attorneys were retained and immediately mobilized.
Experts were hired and lawyers from NZA were on site directing the causation investigation, interviewing witnesses and preserving critical evidence – all within 24 hours of the fire. This immediate response and the experience of NZA set the stage for what became complex multiple party litigation. After a long and hard-fought jury trial, a 100% verdict was achieved for our clients. NZA successfully defended appeals to the State Appellate and Supreme Courts resulting in a full recovery plus interest. That is what NZA offers to clients.
